Currently ordering parts for a k24 powered race chassis and still haven’t decided on coil overs. It seems these Exocets like to be high and need light settings. The xidas XL have lighter spring options on the site. I’ve read 949’s setup info and would appreciate any further insight. I would like driving to the track to be an option. Thanks.

We are just completing our K24- powered race chassis. FYI - weight is ~1800lbs with 175lb driver. Approximately 950 lbs on the front and 850 lbs on the rear - if that gives you some ideas on suspended weight.
The Exocet - because it is utilizing Miata suspension will have the same a-arm and half-shaft angles as a track Miata as that will yield the same roll center geometry, etc. When you set up an Exocet like this and want to use the chassis (jack pads) as a reference, you will probably be in the 5-6" range whereas with the same suspension geometry in the Miata, it would be at 4.5" or so at the pinch-welds. Call it "high" if you want but it's just a different reference point.
With relatively little track data available, it's going to take some experimentation to get the right spring rates. We're going with the Ohlins shocks and with 450lb in the front and 336 in the rear. With some luck, our track debut will be December 27!!

No, it won't, because the subframes are in a different position relative to the chassis, and the rear subframe is 1" lower relative to the front subframe then a miata is.

Thanks guys. This is good stuff. Check 949’s Exocet setup info. It looks like they recommend raising the front maybe 3/8 inch relative to the rear. I went with the xida xL s and their medium spring rates. Are u guys planning on running the 15x9 inch +12 offset wheels 6ul is making for exocets. It seems excessive but I have no experience. Let us know how the track time goes.
