After 4 years I had my first road legal drive today- felt amazing!!! Everything seems to be good except for one problem- when the engine is warmed up and I take my foot off the accelerator when slowing down the engine cuts out. Had to keep revs high whenever trying to slow down. Anyone experienced this and have a solution?

I had a similar problem the other night, would cut out on idle regardless of engine temp. After playing with adjustments to cable settings and getting it idling nicely I noticed a sensor plug was disconnected. Just happened to be the idle control valve sensor plug Assuming you are not as dumb as me....... does the cut out happen when the fan is running? If so it might be inadequate earthing, in general not just the fan. I had this issue a while ago, it would cut out on idle when the fan was on. Can't explain exactly why it happens but I found the solution online (so not unique to me) and it worked

Is now cutting out all the time! Have replaced the idle control valve but still doing the same thing. Is blowing out some smoke so am assuming it may be running rich. Am going to take plugs out to see. Will have to see how it goes - very annoying!!!

I can't remember if you had TBs when I met you at Curborough (I thought you did). Looking at your other post wrt a map I found from OMEX the standard engine map was good, but the TB one wasn't but good enough to get me to the turners. One problem I had was the OMEX map was based on the Ford injectors, but my TB injectors were bigger (bike injectors). Mine kept cutting out and ran rich, infact it was that rich I think it knackered one of the turners sensors. After the tune it's running great. Mines only the 2l Zetec engine thou. Matt

No throttle bodies yet, just the standard inlet manifold from the st engine.

Are you sure you have good vacuum? I forgot to plug the brake servo take off and had symptoms that would match what you describe whilst test running in the garage.

Will have another look at possible vacuum leak, but can't find anything at the moment.
