That looks very similar to the Mercedes 190E radiator that I used in my Haynes Roadster (manual radiator, not automatic). Try lowering your radiator as low as it will go so that the bottom of the radiator brackets rest on the lower beam, that's how I have mine, it is really tight.
Failing that, why don't you do what the American boys & Exomotive do, & put it on the engine side of the front frame ?

Sorry, just looked back through your thread to see how it was mounted. My thinking is cut the lower edge of the bonnet where it touches the base of the radiator ( or close to it), then change your radiator brackets slightly to get it to sit lower in the front frame. Mercedes rad I mention previously is very compact & comes from a 2l, so plenty of cooling, just double check the specs. They can be found on eBay, type in Mercedes 190E manual radiator, then look for the Nissen listings, they are on there.
My first step would be to fabricate different rad brackets & get it sat down in the front frame a bit more.
I presume that you are using the mk1 radiator ? I know that your car is a 2.5 ? The rad brackets only work with a mk1 radiator. I hope that this helps you !

I can get bonnet on but not back far enough and I wont let it beat me. I cant live with it if its not right lol I will get it back enough just might need to fit smaller rad. cheers

I went with a £20 eBay fan kit and that aloud me to get the rad back a little more. I also ended up fitting the rad 10 degree's in at the bottom, which gave me better clearance.

Well gents, I have spent all day trying to get my bonnet to fit, in the end I removed rad and it still would not go back. I have had my head in my hands all day when I finally realised my uprights stick out and are stopping the bonnet from pushing back the left one has a big blob of weld on it to make it even harder, they are proud of the top rails so are hitting at both sides of the bonnet. I have decided to cut the bonnet as I don't want to destroy the powder coating after several hrs of cutting (a bit at a time) if you get me I have got it to fit as I wanted it to. I have ordered a smaller rad as now bonnet is in the correct place there is no chance it will fit no matter how I positioned it. I just hope new rad fits as no turning back now I will post some pics soon to show you how i'm getting on. cheers

Good luck Paul, have you spoken to MEV about this ? They may have an idea how to get the bonnet to clear the radiator.

Looks good, tell you what, that looks like an old Peugeot 205 / citroen AX radiator. If it works you may start a new trend on here lol.

well gents a good day at last I have mocked up the new radiator brackets and tested the bonnet for fitment and its much better with the smaller radiator. I had a moment when waiting for fan to kick in but eventually it did thank god, the bonnet is now no where near the rad so I feel much better if an issue with overheating should occur.
