Hi everyone, thought I would put this In a new topic...if it shouldn't be here then please do feel free to remove/move or just tell me off! I have what I think is an after market alarm or immobiliser installed which has a fairly ugly box to try and squeeze in, unless I can remove it... here's a picture of the box... My question is, if I trace back he black wires, to the colours they splice into, cut them out and then rejoin the original colours, will this override the alarm/immobiliser, I ask this because it looks like a right mess, and I would much rather get rid of it... For example, there's a brown/yellow (I think) wire which has been cut in 2 places and the middle section taken out, and then 2 black wires come from the box and join onto it, one at each cut, if I remove the black wires, and then join the brown/yellow wire back together, does this basically just remove the alarm? I thought I would post on a different thread, because I'm no auto electrician, and there maybe a few questions needed to be asked! I think 3 or 4 wires have been spliced into all together, and a few grounds coming out of the box, and a couple for the fob that deactivated it, I think this was just a battery pressed into a holder? Anyway, I'll let you wiser people than me try and help! And as always thanks again in advance

Sounds sensible to me but to be sure, I'd get t running first, then label everything you do to remove the immobiliser, so you can in do it if you get well and truly stuck.

The aftermarket ones are relatively easy to remove. Just trace the cables and make sure you can put it back if things don't go to plan.

Cheers will have a go....what's the worst that could happen? I would have left it but the wiring they have done looks a complete mess not that mine is much better though! Thanks for your responses
