Build Not Buy ?
A few main reasons why..
1. Fitting it under the Bonnet / Hood. Space is at a Premium on an MX150R / Exocet.
Off the Shelf MX5 / Miata Kits just don't fit without modification.
2. Cost. From memory the Original Install parts (less InterCooler) was sub £1000 / $1300.
You don't get much Off The Shelf for that kind of money.
The IC addition on the rebuild was around another £150 / $196.
(The rest of the rebuild changes and associated costs was because I wanted to make it better.)
3. I wanted to give it a go. If I can make it, I can also repair it if ever needed.
Turbo install's in comparison are a lot easier to package. You can make the Turbo Manifold to suit the space and the rest is plumbing..
SC's require alignment, and that's the biggest pain in the whole project.
