South Taranaki Car Club ran street sprints on Sunday 14th August. Twenty two cars turned out for the sprints plus eight motorcycles and half a dozen more cars for drifting. It was run on a 1km road circuit, I was most impressed when they pulled street signs out on the corners for us. First run was interesting as I got lost! I reverted back to road rules and drove on the left of the road, unfortunately the chicane entry was on the right Luckily the cage did its job and whilst the bamboo pole I removed was not that heavy hitting it at 50kph with no cage would have hurt even with a helmet! Luckily this was only a practice run and then we had three timed runs. Run two was my best, it gave me second in my grade (1.6l to 2.0l) with a time of 1:40:01 The starts were flying with the time not taken until we crossed the beam by the finish board up the first straight.

Yup, would've smarted a little without the cage.
