I have some odd cars in the past; Tr7 V8 fully caged rally car, TVR350i and then I built a MiataV8 with a 5.0. I had to sell this as I was naïve/badly mislead about the `smog ability'. The experience rather dampened my dreams but I was impressed with the build of the Miata. I'd always wanted a full bodied seven and after I got hold of an SB100 that I bought a J15 Sylva (the kit is hanging from the roof of the garage untouched). It's very pretty, but only marginally safer than a 7. The Exocet is an easier build and provides much more protection, which is further up my priority list as I get older and wiser. Hence with kids getting to driving age, this seems the best fit and something I can finish near term.
Given unlimited time and money I'd rather like a T70 or older Ultima Spyder set up for `credit card touring'. Beardy

beardy, I forgot about Lola kits. Here's a producer of vintage cars, including the T70: race-car-replicas.com/rcr-t70-spyder/I like your thinking about safety too. Two little ones here...
