My previous weekend toy had 250bhp but it was in the form of a lazy V8, my current daily is a Golf R with 300bhp driving 1.5 tonnes. Could the 200bhp/tonne of the golf could be matched by a 700Kg MEV with 140bhp ? Identical P/W ratio but subjectively worlds apart - the MEV will feel much faster in every way.

Having looked through the specifications of that car that's a good price, it's also advertised as "or nearest offer" so I bet you would get it for less than that.
The Engine with omex ecu and jenvey TB's would have cost about £3K.
Well worth a look if you are serious about getting a kit.

There is no 'if' It does seem well spec'd so I've sent a message to see if it's still available. Martin

However, the arrival of two small children has somewhat limited my free time ! Martin

I've made contact with the seller and we're exchanging e-mails ... lots of them.
Any chance that any of you guys are close to Burnley and fancy a trip out to view the car on my behalf .... all expenses paid along with enough to take the missus out for a meal if you can !

You really need to see it for yourself Where would we be in life without a little risk to make things interesting ? Deposit left without seeing the car in the flesh. Brace yourselves, now the questions start ! Martin

I would buy one if I was spending a complete strangers money but if you have seen plenty of pics of the car and are happy with what you see them it may be worth the risk Who's car you interested in

The one linked above - www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C756223Lots of high resolution photos confirmed it was in the condition stated in the advert, and we came to a good mid-point on the price. The guy selling it has agreed to deliver it on a trailer as soon as the number plate has transferred, so that saves me making a 215 mile motorway journey in an unfamiliar car the first time I drive her.
