When I decided to do my turbo conversion I also sent my flywheel away to be lightened and fitted a Competition Clutch Stage 4. Depending on the boost levels your gonna be running at it may be worth getting an oil cooler fitted and the coolant re-route. I went for a full size alloy radiator and ebay intercooler that you can see in the posts to keep the IAT's steady even on boost.
Your probably aware that you'll need cooler plugs such as NGK BKR7E gapped to around .7 - .8mm to avoid boost blow out. In terms of leads I went with Magnecor KV85 and they seem to be holding up fine.
What are you doing in terms of a wideband sensor? location, type etc..
Depending on your location i'm happy to let you have a drive in mine to see what you think on the clutch & flywheel setup etc.
Cheers
Iain

With regards to brake recommendations, I'm currently running Roddisons pads following recommendations on mx5nutz...along with super racing blue fluid and braided lines.
The brakes are superb on the road and I'll be properly testing them at Knockhill this Saturday morning. If you can make it along (9-1) I'll happily take you out on track for a few laps!

I seen freaky parts selling wilwood brake kit any knowledge on them? Im on holiday at the moment so wont make knockhill. I will when i get the chance come have a look at your set up etc if you don't mind that?

Of course, anytime that you're free pm me through here (I'm online most days)
Re the wilwood kit...it looks very nice, but honestly you won't need it, the stock brakes are excellent on the mx5, removing a third of the weight of the car and they're unbelievable. Good pads and fluid and your eyes will strain in the sockets when you brake (well on my setup anyway (includes r888 tyres)) - what I'd say is, try the standard brakes first and take it from there, I think spending £500 on decent tyres is money better spent.

Thats great thanks for that. Ok its currently got new drilled grooved discs on yellow stuff pads. When turbocharged thought it might need a little much punch on breaking. Plus i miss the look of massive Brembo brakes im used to on my Subarus.

I'm not a massive fan of ebc pads, though I used them pretty religiously in my n/a mr2...they worked good in that!
The Roddisons pads cost £100 for fronts and rears and have great feel to them. I'll give a better update after the track session though

Really good, just uploading a couple of videos to YouTube, having to trim them cause of the length...
Firstly, the brakes were awesome, no fade, just consistent brakes at every turn....coming into duffus I was braking from 130+ and they were just confidence inspiring. At one point I was out for 20 minutes and I'm heavy on the brakes and they just kept delivering - pads, fluid and lines, should be all you'll ever need.
Now, how did the car do....? Tremendous!!! lapping at roughly 1min, with a few laps just under (think I got a 58-59s lap but want to stopwatch it against the video). I've got an Ashcroft ATB DIFF that I need to get in, I was getting wheel spin through every corner which was holding me back slightly..think with the lsd and getting a bit more used to the car I should be aiming for 55/56s laps
Managed to get past most of the caterhams (r400 superlight was much quicker!) and I got past an atom no problem and he spoke to me after and said he couldn't keep up, he was impressed!
In fact, I could get past most cars, some were just piloted by much better drivers (few cup cars) and it was good to try and follow their lines. Did have an Elise Cup S in front for a few laps and had to flash him out the way, later on he asked me if he was holding me up and was a bit surprised and apologetic when I said yeah.

Turbo/supercharged exocet put a lot of more expensive cars to shame the only things that will keep up are well built caterhams/radical/atoms etc .
Im running a turbo exocet with td04 turbo and same set up pretty much apart from oil cooler I keep to 10 mins sessions and haven't had any issues if I was going longer will fit at one stage.
Oil feed take from either a sandwich plate onto the oil filter or through the oil pressure switch with an adaptor piece.
Im running the willwood set up from freaky parts blows anything stock set up can do but you do need to upgrade the rears as they become very front biased. During the winter I will be updating to a custom pedal set up so can run a biased valve.
If your looking for tyres for track im running the new nankang ar1 for 300 quid for 195/50/15 they are awesome tyres so grippy puts stuff like the federal rsr/ r888r to shame.
