FYI don't think it would take much to swap for a manual transmission... It's been for sale for a while so she/he might take an offer, if you want a MEVster this is a great chance!

Question. If a Mevster was up for sale at an acceptable price to you, say £10k, how much less would be happy paying for the wrong one, perhaps one with auto when you like to shift?
I like the MX5 auto box but can't help thinking it was the wrong choice for this type of car.

That is the million dollar question! Personally I *love* rowing manual gears and H&T; I don't think I would ever choose to build an automatic kit car, feels wrong somehow.... unless it was something truely special like a racing sequential box. However, right now I still can't use my clutch foot (almost 2 years now....) so I had to give up on my kid and I'm forced to drive an automatic Still no idea what the end result will be, almost lost the foot 3 times in 2 weeks due to infection so I'm happy to be able to walk frankly. On the plus side, the automatic I am driving is a 996 I think this is a tough selll when even someone like me with no choice about gearbox isn't exactly excited about it.

Seems like a good price.. For around 200 quid you could change it to 5 speed if you wanted to.. To bad it would cost to much to ship it to USA.

Hey I bought it & happy that it's an auto transmission.......moving it to Cyprus as it's likely the only one on the island.

Hi Bruce, when I kept my Mevster outside I used a cover designed for an Elise - it's a bit baggy around the back (so I tuck it behind the Exhaust), but otherwise isn't a bad fit. Because the Mevster is so low though it's a pain reaching underneath to do up the straps! The only issue I had was that because of the shape of the roll bar hoops at the back, and the windscreen at the front, I ended up with a puddle forming on the top whenever it rained. To get around that I made a simple 'T' out of wood which was supported on the top of each hoop and then on the windscreen surround. I don't bother with it if I get caught out in the rain on a drive, but if I'm leaving the car outside overnight and expect rain then I'll put it on.

I thank you also for taking the time to assist...............this is very helpful and appreciated.
