A blast from the past!
I know you're not one to copy Stuart, but it does remind me of my good friend DJ Harry's 'show winning' Nova Kit Car and when he use to turn up at Shows like Stoneleigh, with the below pictured 'luxury accommodation' in tow. He even took it on the ferry to Le Mans one year. While some disapproved, DJ had the last laugh as all were jealous when it came to bedding down for the night. nigel

Just a quick question what are the rules regarding towing with a kit car. For the exocet the mk1 mx5 came out before towing regs came about mk2 aren't legally allowed to tow anything. As a mx5 owner along with the exocet I wouldn't want to tow anything with a mx5.
Does this then transfers over to the exocet in regards to towing regs or kit cars in general.

I quoted text from the DVSA above, I can provide evidence that the Exocet is suitable for an Exopod. The donor has MK nothing to do with it, that is just the car we rip goodies off to build an Exocet.

Towing regs are hideously complicated just remembered that mk2 aren't allowed to tow so was just interested to see if that translates to the exocet using mk2 donor or not which is the case. Its not my thing tbh camping that is and as I trailer my exocet around be hard to trailer this behind the trailer lol. I like luxury so will be using hotels or in the future if money allows racing will be getting a camper for the weekends away.

for those enthusiasts looking for an alternative accessory we have stainless steel ornaments available at Stoneleigh for only £5 each. They have larger holes in one pair of wheels to allow a screwdriver to go through for those wishing to use one as a hanger on the wall.

I really love the idea of having my Rocket pull along the bits and bobs that I might need of a track day or weekend away. Tools, gerry can, somewhere to hide from the rain. Can't see myself sleeping in it, other than maybe a festival mind. Top Gear magazine had a feature about a guy going racing and he had a trailer being pulled by his excocar-from-well-known-manufacturer, which had a whole set of replacement wheels and tyres, tools and a lots a food and drink. So yeah, let's have our own version of that!

You can tow a maximum of 750 Kg unbraked trailer but you cannot exceed half the kerb weight of the towing vehicle. Is it not 85% of the towing vehicle? That's the figure all the caravaning magazines and articles quote. I wouldn't pull one knowingly of course, but I did look into the pulling capacity of my 159 before I bought my PF Jones towbar and leccy kit, to pull my Rocket, on its double-axle car transporter. It's 1,500Kg (car is a lardy 1,700)
