Unsure about the hubs 4X100? or other? Offset 38-40? Any suggestions for a quality wheel in black? Would like 15" as long as the Wilwoods will fit in it.

Hubs are 4x108.
38 or 40 on the backspacing.
Not sure about the 15" with the Wilwoods though!
There is a company that does convert the 4x108 hubs to 4x100(not using an adapter either). This would open up a huge door on what is available for wheels. Pretty much the only gripes I have thus far with this kit is the choice of front hubs because of the bolt pattern and the maximum width of the rear tire.

Hi, no problem with the 15" on the willwood calipers. The stud pattern is vey common, every 4 stud Ford has 108 pcd. 38 or 40 off-set is not going to make any noticeable difference. Regards stiggy

Although the demonstrater I went out in had 17" wheels on the front, I think I will go with everyones feeling of fitting smaller ones, the ones I have seen are available at Topgear Nottingham and are the Dotz Freeride, Is it possible to only buy 2 wheels? I just need to bare wheels for now because I intend to colour the outer polished face with a matching colour to the body.
Does anyone know if its possible to just buy 2 wheels, or do I have to buy 4?
Cheers
Nick

I emailed a few places about two wheels and they did not have a problem, i think topgear is linked to rtr so doubt there will be an issue

Yes we are Top Gear Nottingham and you can order one wheel or ten wheels if you wish I will ask HQ in Bridport for price and availability on the Dotz. RTR

Cheers for your help guys.
Was hoping to get my order in before the VAT increase, but I think its going to be maybe middle of January now, but I am getting very excited :-) Finally I can build my own Trike, with my own colour choice, my own funky seats etc etc:
And hopefully this time it will actually let me drive it more than a mile before it all goes Bang! :-)

I must say, that apart from the Campagna in Daytona ;D, there is nothing since my Boom and Buell that made me grin so much as I did when you took me for the spin that day this year.
Hope to see you in the new year with my money :-)
Have a good Xmas and New Year
Cheers

Does anyone know the wheelsize of the RTR-tr1ke at the autoshow in Birmingham? It looked like 17", compared with the rearwheel... Its running 17" rims at the front, tires fitted are 205/40/zr17 I think an R1 has a 17" rear wheel, it seems to sit pretty flat looking at a sideway pic, and it seemed to handle pretty good too.

Correct. R1 (mod 2004) has a 190/50R17 tyre fitted at the rear rim.

Since the rear has 17'' fitted, what should be the argument for choosing 15'' front wheels? I can imagine that 15'' and higher tires will give more "comfort" When fitted 17'' at the front the trike will be more level. Please advise

We have 205-40-17's all round on our demo car but they weigh 6kgs per corner more than the equivalent 15" rims. On a vehicle that weighs only 325kgs that is a lot of extra unsprung weight. The handling is more delicate with 15's on as a consequence but the 17's do look great.
It's all down to personal choice. We have 16's on a car we are currently factory building for a customer.

I have a question about the tire on the rear rim: my supplier told me that a normal car tyre doesn't fit on a motorcycle rim. What type of tire should I search?
