I'm a firm believer in something being worth what the seller is prepared to let it go for if the buyer is prepared to pay that...with things as rare and as personal as a kit build you'll always be able to find a cheaper one or a better one for you if you are prepared to wait indefinitely; and you'll get comments about building one yourself as well.
Go and see it, talk to the seller. Let him take you out in it, don't be put off if he won't let you drive.
It's more like buying a house than a car in many respects...

Ha just seen its a trade ad. They'll have a hard figure invested in it; maybe easier to get a deal as they wont be factoring in their build time or love of the machine.
