Thanks for the offers. John, mine is a mk2 98 so guessing not very relevant.
Paul, where abouts in Huddersfield are you?
Thanks

Hi start, I intend to but haven't had chance yet.
Paul, my office is in penistone. I could nip over Thursday about 6pm if that's any good?
Cheers.

It took a bit of time bit I have managed to update all the photos in my thread using the new method. Some may be a little out of order but you get the idea.

Does anyone know of a good solution for extending or shortening cables? What are people using to shorten them?
I am after a really slim Crimp connector that is barely noticeable - normal electrical crimps add quite a bit of bulk to the cable.
Thanks

Thanks I didn't use these because i found them after I did most of my electrical work, but they look like pretty good butt connectors. I have some work to do on my rear harness so they're in my shopping cart now: waiting for "funding". www.amazon.com/dp/B073RMRCC3

Thanks, they look quite handy, think I am going to order a few to trial and see whether they look a bit more professional than normal butt connectors

They do not make the cable any bigger and it remains flexible after fitting. I bought mine Frome eBay and I am going to get some more. You just need a heat gun. In other progress I had been debating whether to bother with a heat shield/drip tray for the fuel tank. I nearly didn't bother but then thought it wouldn't be worth failing over. I spent today bending and welding some sheet into a drip tray. I am using a mk2 tank so it had to sit lower than normal which meant a flat bottomed tray was impossible. I also had to mount it around my exhaust. I am pretty pleased with the solution. All made on a home made sheet bender from scrap angle iron.
I have drilled a hole and welded a small drain tube into the corner. I will probably put some hose on this to route any spilt fuel well away from the exhaust as my setup is very tight I am going to spray the tray black so it blends in. Now onto finishing the wiring!

Nice work.. I would not even say anything about it when testing. They might find something wrong with design. Just being there if they look might make them happy.. No need to poke the dog..

Definitely, there seems to be a lot of "open to interpretation" parts of the manual. On the day I think I will go with the "Ask no questions and you will be told no lies!" mentality.

Can anyone offer any clarification on the position of the wheel wing mounting locations?
I am planning on fitting them this weekend but I have looked through photos of some completed cars and the front and rear wings seem to be in slightly different positions? Am I imagining this?
The IVA manual does not seem to differentiate between the front and the rear wheels, it just gives 1 set of specs for the positions?
Thanks

The requirement is for fronts to cover the trailing edge, rears just need to sit above, see the diagram from the IVA manual.

Thanks Stuart,
So the 30 degree to the front edge and 50 degress to the rear edge is applicable to both front and rear wheels?
The only other requirement is that the rear edge of all 4 mudguards must be no higher than 150mm above the centre line of the wheel?
So to be clear, all 4 wheel guards can be mounted in the same positions as each other?
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but it is not easy to reverse so want to get it right first time and I keep reading the IVA manual trying to work out what I am missing!
Thanks

Yes we need clarification here, when I said "fronts" I meant the front edge not the front wings! Front and rear wings are not refereed to individually so we must assume the diagram is for both.
