^what he said, put ur filter on the top hose before the T. Right now the fuel is returning back to tank and takin gate path of least resistance. Ask me how I know lol
That seems to have fixed the issue. I re-routed it as suggested and now it revs smoothly and quickly from idle regardless of how hard I stab the throttle. Thanks guys for the assistance.
I'll still do the tune up just because it is unknown how long it has been and the car has sat for awhile. Any thoughts on the Seafoam process? Never used it before but the penetrating oil spray seemed to be the best stuff I used for the teardown on really stuck bolts.

OK update. The fuel filter change didn't fix the problem. I just took it for a short drive and it still stutters while accelerating. It may be doing it a little less but it is still significant. once or twice it didn't seem bad and other times it was there. I just cleaned the throttle body. It is pretty dirty in the intake manifold but I can see aluminum in many places so it is not caked with oil or sludge.
Also is it possible that the Perko Marine fuel filler nozzle is holding pressure and not allowing fuel flow due to pressure in the tank?

I pulled the plugs and found a teaspoon of rusty water around the base of each plug. The front was the worst with quite a bit of moisture and rusty discoloration on the boot 2 inches up from the bottom. I cleaned each plug boot and each plug was checked. The front 3 looked fairly dark with black soot on most of the ceramic and darker brown ceramic near the electrode. The rear plug was much lighter and had some white on the electrode. The gaps were from over .050" to around .045" I regapped each to .043". Once this was done and the plug wells cleaned I re-installed the plugs with some anti seize. The hesitation was pretty much gone. The engine was warm but below operating temp. I couldn't get it to hesitate or stutter at all from idle or anywhere.
As the engine warmed up more I was able to get some stuttering or hesitation when going WOT from idle once or twice but it is less than before. It seems the warmer the engine gets the more the hesitation becomes. Any thoughts on why?

Did you clean the surfaces between the plug wire and top of plug electric.. A new set of wires should help too plugs too. What is the gap on the crank sensor to all 4 tits.

I don't recall the gap but I checked them during the no start issue and adjusted the sensor so they were fairly close to the middle of the range the service manual had. I can check that again. Plugs and wires are being shipped due on the 31st. I also ordered a used coil pack and new fuel pump and sock for use soon or when I do a fuel cell.
Gwnwar Any thoughts on doing a Seafoam treatment or similar intake tract cleaning process? I plan to get some fuel system cleaner and add some more fresh fuel today or tomorrow.

On the intake better to take it apart top comes off with a few bolts and clean with spray, brush and rags.. Seafoam good stuff if used in open space.. if put into the intake though vac port will make alot of smoke someone might call the fire dept. put some injector cleaner in fuel tank..

I played around with upper side panels and a roof panel for some wind, rain and stone protection as well as a little cleaner aero. Here are my first try results.
I also got in the used coil pack, new NGK wires and plugs today. The last drive when I had it aligned it ran well so I will try and see if it still has the stuttering then do the tune up regardless.
Lastly I moved the seat back 1.5 inches. This made it easier to get in and out and better ergonomics/feel.

The panels are made from coroplast or plastic cardboard. It is used in the sign and packaging industry and is corrugated. It is waterproof and easy to work with while being light and pretty strong as well as flexible in pretty extreme temps. I have worked with it in the past and always thought it would fit well in other applications. It is quite a bit lighter than plexiglas. The panels are just held on now with tape for fitment work but I will zip tie them before harder use. The other nice thing about the material is that it is cheap. White 4'X8' panels are $20 at Home Depot and these I got from a sign shop for $42 for 2 4X8 panels so I can make 3 roof and 4 side panels.
I probably will tape the leading edge of the roof and maybe the side edges as well depending on how it seems for security.

I took the car for a bit of a longer drive today. No stuttering so I believe that is fixed. I added more 93 octane fuel and a bottle of Lucas fuel system cleaner. I cleaned the plug wells of water and re-gapped the plugs and I sprayed some Seafoam Deep Creep in the front of the throttle body. One of those things fixed the issue.
Today I put in new NGK plugs and wires, cleaned the PCV valve as the parts store ordered the wrong one and I Seafoamed the engine using half a bottle on the vacuum method. There was some decent smoke but it did the job nicely. Added the other half bottle to the fuel tank and crankcase and will change the oil and filter tomorrow. I used some carb cleaner on the throttle butterfly and idle passages. After doing this and changing the plugs and wires the idle ran from 1000-1500 with some surging up and down. This stopped after a few minutes and I had no issues after that.
On my drive I got it up to a little over 80 and tested the ABS at a slower speed. No pull and good engagement. Pedal is still high and firm. After the oil/filter change tomorrow I just need to do water wetter and distilled water change for the coolant and I feel the car is track ready. Now to get some driving and miles on it for the clutch.

Looking forward to seeing your registration process, that and it seems I'm gonna have to make a road trip up North to see this beast. Congrats on getting her completed as well, must feel very gratifying!
