I put 2 big holes in the firewall, one on each side. The harness is a big U shape.
I ran the wires that go to the rear in front of the firewall and down the trans tunnel.

Cool thanks for the info Jon. I'll give that a try. Currently Here is the harness to the rear I'm also struggling to figure out this connector. I have it labeled "top rear of cam cover Coil pack?" Like I wasn't sure what it went to. 4 wires black with red stripe, black with white stripe, purple with white stripe and blue. Nothing anywhere near it has a similar connection. I wonder if it is needed but it comes off the main engine harness.

I had one in a similar location that connected to wires that came up from the exhaust sensor.

That is what it is. I figured it out when I ran the rear harness section and looked at the O2 sensor connections of the new ones I have. I forgot I removed the exhaust with O2 sensors. Thanks for the help.
I also ran the rear harness in the tunnel which helps for a little cleaner look.
What is everyone doing for grounds? I can run some rivnuts but prefer not to everywhere. Anyone using sheet metal screws for grounds?

Combo of sheet metal screws for small diameter connectors, and 6mm thru bolts for larger ones. Scrape off paint / powder coat behind each connection from your frame so you get a very positive contact. Optionally cover with a dab of grease after connection is made to ward off corrosion.

Thanks Einy. I am finding grounds at these locations. Any you think I missed?
Under drivers side headlight (Multi connector) Under pass side headlight (Multi connector) PPF near diff (single eyelet) 2 near instrument cluster that are single brass eyelets Near instrument cluster (Multi connector) Passenger side B pillar (Double wire single eyelet) Single on connector harness from main harness to rear harness near rear O2 sensor connector 1 single eyelet on ABS pump mount 1 hidden under plastic cover on engine bay fuse/relay box Main at battery negative terminal
Anyone think of any others I may have missed to double check?

I found that one today while triple checking everything getting ready for starting soon. Waiting on the heater bypass hose to come in to the parts store and a couple small things but getting close.

Quick question. does not having the emergency 4 way flasher switch plugged in affect anything? I thought I read somewhere it was key to something but now don't remember. I lost mine somewhere in the build and teardown process.

Quick question. does not having the emergency 4 way flasher switch plugged in affect anything? I thought I read somewhere it was key to something but now don't remember. I lost mine somewhere in the build and teardown process. Not sure if it affects anything electronically, but you may need it or a suitable replacement if you plan to pass inspection. My state, MA, requires 4 way hazard lighting.

I think it depends on the year of the donor. My flasher switch is sitting in a ziplock and the turn signals do work. (1996)

Well good news and bad news today. I filled and checked all the fluids. double checked all the wiring connections and ground points. Added some fuel approx 4 gallons to the maybe 1/8 tank of old gas then connected the battery. No sparks. I turned the key to the ON position and got a click. Over to the start position and she cranked. I cranked it for approx 20-30 seconds with no running. Stopped and and turned the key on and off in 20-30 second intervals to see if the new fuel line would fill but never heard the fuel pump. I tried a little ether and cranked again with no luck. I stopped trying to start it and began some trouble shooting.
With key turned to on position 1 relay clicks. I have no power to the dash and none to the fuel pump when checking with a multimeter. All fuses are good both small ones and larger ones under the hood.
I unplugged the ECU and checked the connectors. I had 1 point that had 12V with the key in the off position. No other wires had any voltage at the ECU with key in OFF position. I am getting 12V at the large fuse in the under hood box that is labeled IGN. I tried to check the coil connections with them plugged in but couldn't get a connection. Pulled a plug wire and while cranking got no spark but again working alone makes it tough to hold the wire and turn the key.
I had to stop to take care of weekend duties but I don't have a service manual and I am not sure where to start or the process other than checking connections, checking for 12V at the coils and fuel pump connection and so far I have no power at either nor the dash. The grounds are tight and I scraped the paint and primer off. I checked the ohms and get the same whether touching the bolt, eyelet or bare chassis points at each ground point. I don't find any connections not connected except those plugs that I have nothing to connect it to such as lights, wiper,HVAC,cigarette lighter, power Antenna, radio etc..
I would greatly appreciate any questions, links or guides to help solve the issue.

You are 99 donor, right?
Immobilizer issue maybe?

Yes 1999 donor. Would that cause no power to the instrument cluster? I am not finding anything online about the immobilizer. I'm not sure which box that is or how to check it.
