Great progress must be a real hurdle to have it fired up and running.
Looking at the wiring though just make me realise what's ahead. Any issues or tips ?
Mine is a mk2 and removing abs and airbags of course. Any hidden earths or issues or can you literally cut off everything you don't need and removed the abs bulb?

Best tip is to make sure you follow each wire all the way to where your going to cut it. I took all the harness tape off and still managed to cut a couple of wires in after a join so had to re-solder the joint. But apart from that, it was actually less daunting than I thought it would be. I made sure the engine was running before I started cutting then started the engine after every I'd cut a couple of wires just to make sure I hadn't cut anything important.

Did you go with the digital speedo in the end? They also do Rev Counters which are backlight so was thinking of giving these a go myself

Not yet, I did ask them to send me a copy of the fitting instructions so I could see what inputs I needed, but that was 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting.

Hi Paul, I got the fitting instructions, all seems fairly easy. I've just got to work out if removing the connections to the ecu is going to mess anything up.

Yes it doesn't look too bad, seems from their emails also that they feel it's pretty straight forward, was going to have a look at the wiring diagrams for the dash and see if I could see any potential issues

I've finished my dash at last. It took a while to sort out the sensors and wiring but it's all now working and reading correctly.

looks really neat, have you thought bout giving the fibre glass face a coat of black wrinkle finish paint to give it a period look. You could leave the rolled edge and top unpainted (careful masking required).

Looks great Steve, was it as straightforward as the instructions suggested? What's the USB connector for?
Also bang sticker spot on!

I had thought about crinkle paint or turned aluminium but I quite like the matt black finish so I will leave it as it is for the moment.
The dash was easy enough to wire in, I had to get a pressure transducer from the states for the oil pressure and needed a resistor in the fuel guage wiring to get the fuel level correct.
The USB connector is for a sat nav.

I wondered if anyone was going to put a radio in one of these yet! thought it might have been ipod connectivity!
Might have to pick your brain on the dials once I get to that stage
Cheers
Paul.

I have a clarion bluetooth system which I plan to install to the drivers right above the side deck behind a lockable cover.
