Getting rid of the shell isn't easy, what did you do with yours ?
Looking at cutting mine up into sections.

With the price of scrap being so low and the shape is quite cumbersome its a nightmare.

A Mk1 shell may be attractive to a Mazda racer (5Club/BRSCC) but a Mk2 not at all.

I got a local scrappy to collect it. He didn't pay anything for it but didn't charge me either.

Good news sounds like progressing nicely, I'm ready for my chassis if I'm honest I'm just tidying up the subframes and bits and bobs. Noticed some split pins missing from the castle nuts and ordered new banjo brake pipes also I think my droplinks look split despite them looking new.

Got home early from work today so thought I would enlist a bit of child labour! Now the cleaning, painting and replacing begins!

On the issue of depowering the steering rack, something I definitely want to do with all the pipes etc! But as I not overly concerned re performance (car will only be road use) what's the general feeling on just looping the pipe, have read the guides not keen on stripping everything down and welding so unless the half way house solution is not something people would recommend I wouldn't be doing a full strip down, just remove belt, pump and the pipes etc
thanks, Paul

Don't worry all answered my own question, saw reference to Exocet build guide, if it's good enough for Stuart that's fine with me! Cheers
