MEV championship
The MEV Championship run by 5clubracing.co.uk within the 750MC Sport Specials series, is looking to expand its remit to include more MEV designed cars. Alyn Robson of 5Club Racing says that apart from meeting MSA blue book requirements (which all race cars must), there wouldn't need to be too many restrictions. Currently there are 2 classes of MX150R (a.k.a. the racing Exocet) using the Mazda MX5 1.8 Litre Mk1 or Mk2: Normally aspirated - 150 bhp max; Supercharged - 195 bhp max (turbochargers are not allowed) If there is sufficient interest there is nothing to stop us having a one-make series, where cars of differing power, weight and handling race on the same grid, separated into different classes. It would be great to see a grid of various MEVs – Rockets, Sonics, Mevsters, Exocet, XS, perhaps a Replicar or two? I bet there isn't a MEV owner out there who wouldn't love to race their MEV, given the chance. Any questions? Ask them here. Or send a PM to me, johnp or Stewart Stewart (Drivers Rep. MX150R) or Micky mscott (MX150R SC) You can also email Alyn RobsonCome along and see us: there are usually spare free tickets to the paddock area for MOGers – link2015 Race Dates23/24 Apr Croft, DL2 2PL 20/21 Jun Cadwell Park, LN11 9SE 01/02 Aug Snetterton, NR16 2JU 05 Sep Castle Combe, SN14 7EY 27 Sep Mallory Park, LE9 7QE

You have covered the car regs what about the driver training.. In USA there are a lot of things that have to be done before being allowed on track.. Or is this going to be a run what you bring outing. Are you putting large X on backs of novice driver cars.. Sounds like a good outing being planned good luck with it..

To race in the UK you need your National B licence minimum. This is gained by passing your ARDS test through the MSA. If you can drive a car around a track, you can pass your ARDS. Then it's just safety equipment. They ask you have the big black/yellow target on the back of the car for the first 6 races so the other drivers know to avoid you
