When I was fighting for every mm of rear light height, I raised the perches on my rear shocks to the absolute maximum. Backing them off completely and then raising to a sensible level has fixed my annoying clunk. Who'd have thunk it.

What bump stops are you using on shocks..

Keep the out and about pictures coming, cracking to see a Replicar out on the road and motivates me to crack on and be IVA'd ready for next summer.
Stoneleigh is target, but will want a month or two shakedown to get rid of the bugs before I embark on a 600mile round trip.

I'm using the bump stops that came with my Gaz adjustables when I bought them, they're some sort of soft PU. I'm not using any sort that are built in to the gaitors that were original iirc ( was a long time ago that they were removed). The clank was occurring when lifting on each rear corner. I think it may well have been the springs just in an unnatural position on the perches and top mount and the lift causing them to shift, but that may just be rationalising. It was a long journey for me tojeiro, a year longer than I'd hoped. I was pretty sceptical a few times about the whole thing, but it's fantastic to have completed. Keep going! My shakedown is aiming for the Farnborough District Motor Club Autosolo in July, and I think it's likely that I'll make it. There will surely be more photos to come. I love the way that these cars enable everyone to tailor them to their own preference, not only do they turn out unique, but they end up as reflections of their owners. 's great

Photo with new shoes. I went for 205/50/15's on 6.5" astra van wheels from openeo.com. About £100 a corner with Toyo T1R's, and they feel great. Booked into Wheels In Motion in Chesham for a geometry setup on Wednesday. And a quick vid of supercharger sound

Nice, who needs a 6 cyl when it plays tunes like that.

5 hour roundtrip to WIM today to get geometry setup. I knew it was not going to be great as I'd replaced all the adjustable bolts and set them to neutral. Felt ok though, no crabbing and predictable drama on throttle. On the Hunter machine being checked... Lovely parallel/flat wishbones. Before/after report. Original was described as distressed, but it was all able to be adjusted to desired specs. Just some other photos of the Hunter output. Can't recommend WIM enough, they will tailor a geometry setup for you based on what sort of driving you do. This is leaning towards an autosolo/sprint setup but still road drivable. Still running no anti roll bars, and shocks are set to lowest bound/rebound settings. Moderately happy with the 350/250 springs rates that are default on the Gaz's. They do have a little preload to get the desired wishbone angles. Running 30/27 cold psi pressures atm. Will play with shock settings, tyre pressures and may try a front ARB now that I know I have a solid geometry. Drive home was brilliant, much quicker steering return, better turn in and much more rear grip under power, less dramatic though.

You should try dropping the tyre pressure. My Westy which weighs in at just under 700kg has 20psi for normal road use and 18psi if on a track day.

I had 30 psi front and rear for the IVA to help the self centering. I've now got 23psi all round and it drives a lot better. I've still got to get my geo set up but I'm waiting for some spacers from Freaky Parts before I get that done.

It was only when my Geo was done that tyre pressures were pointed out to me, luckily one of the guys doing the work was a kit car owner and knew about the pressures. You can actually drop to 16psi if on the track, I have and it works a treat.

Playing with the front intake covers, tried yellow but that didn't work. Settled on colour matched rim with black grille. Also have colour coded the inside of the lamp covers to provide a better profile.

Yep, agree yellow a no no. Like the new look.
Stuck in Oregon at the moment on business, quite a lot of build updates to do but need to get the camera out for some pictures.
Hopefully we will have an Indian summer and you can get some extra days use before winter sets in.

I've been working on boxing in the radiator, I'm pretty sure most of the air that enters at the front at speed just spills without passing through the rad. Initial template getting the curves right: Several more templates, bleeding and nibbler use later: Fitting, fettling and a slam panel still to make.

I pretty sure Snowbird1 channelled his grill flow on one of the mk1 Replicars
