Go a head and put the bushings in the diff housing..If you get a Torsen all you have to do is swap the center section out.. Housings are the same..

I finally got a few minutes to work on the car today and I was able to install all of the suspension bushings and the ball joint boots. Next up are the diff bushings. I haven't done them yet becaus I keep thinking that I will find a reasonable deal on a Torsen but I think I am just going to go ahead and replace the seals and bushings and install the open diff I have. I am sure as soon as I do the perfect Torsen will pop up on craigslist. I am in awe over the beauty of the work you are doing. WOW!!! Robert

I didn't get much done on the car today. This morning I put the rear wheel bearings in the freezer and this afternoon I installed them in the uprights. I was hoping they would just drop in but no such luck. So over to the 20 ton press I went. I picked up a U.S. General 10 Piece Bearing Race and Seal Driver Set the last time I was at Harbor Freight for about $30 with a 25% off coupon. The Blue 72mm disk was the perfect size for the bearings. I then flipped it over and used the black 81mm disk to press in the axle seal on the back side. Here are the finished uprights: Sooner or later I might get around to that rear diff...

I.C - I am curious for an 'observation' from you when you get the front suspension re-assembled. When you do, please let me know what rotates relative to what on the upper control arm pivot points, when you move those arms up / down. For instance, do the poly bushings rotate relative to the (new) steel inners sleeves? I have the Energy Suspension kit installed on mine, and this is what I am seeing on my setup, and regardless of how much grease I put between these two parts, the already squeak and somewhat bind up. No noise / no binding on the lower control arm bushings - just on the upper. I do have the long thru bolts torqued to factory manual specs (cannot recall exact value as I sit here at work right now - but it is on the high side).
Any input from direct experience would be GREATLY appreciated !!

Not much progress today. I painted the hubs and installed the ARP studs. I also finally got around to ordering the little big brake kit from FM and some V Maxx coil overs. Unfortunately some little part is back ordered so the brakes will not ship until sometime after January 5th. My frame should be welded up and in line for powder coating at this point, but I have not had any emails from Exomotive. I also have a line on a 4.1 Torsen 1 from a low mile 95 m edition that was wrecked. I am supposed to pick it up tomorrow on my way to the in-laws for Christmas.

I'm not sure either, I think the adapter goes from the NC brake lines to the levers on the calipers for the parking brake.

Hmmmm. I think I am going to call in the morning and just have them ship whatever they can. I am sure that whatever is missing I can install when it becomes avalible.

That's what I had them do, they said the parts on back order will require you to remove the caliper, but you won't need to open the lines and rebleed the system.

Regarding the extended length wheel studs - are you anticipating having to use a spacer >5mm in thickness? From what I'm seeing elsewhere, if 0 offset wheels are used with ~ 205mm wide tires, no spacer is needed for the fronts, and a 5mm is needed for the rears. Looking at spacers on the FM website, they say standard wheels studs are OK for up to a 5mm spacer (although recommended for track use) ... wondering if I need to be making this change also, although primary intended use (for now) of my Exocet will be street.
Thoughts ??

I got 5mm spacers for the rear only because Warren recommended them for the fenders.

When I picked up my donor it had at least one broken stud on each hub and I broke another one off removing the wheels for the tear down. So for me it was an easy choice to just get the ARP studs and be done with it. With the 0 offset wheels the studs will not stick out past the rime even if they are pretty long. I am waiting on spacers at the moment and will figure out what I need after I get my brakes. According to the templates on the FM brakes page, the calipers will hit my rims, but others here have the little big brake kit with holeshots and they clear. So I am not really sure what's going on there.
