Hi all
I normally go on roadtrips in my Rocket. So far I have done: Northern France, Brugges, Amsterdam, Wales and the Peak district. I am going to Peak district again this Friday.
Next year I plan 2-3 trips and will use this thread to post details (by Dec/Jan). Current thoughts, Brugges, Northern Scotland and maybe Champagne region of France. I normally go on a Friday afternoon and back on Sunday evening so that way I only take half a day off work.
I think its a good idea to meet fellow builders/make new friends/forge relationships.....
I will plan destination, co-ordinate pick-up/meeting points on route and look at options for Eurotunnel, Hotels, camping etc. The usual things I have as a priority is the security of the car when choosing where to stay. You need to consider the following: Passport/Tools required/Fuel can/Waterproof clothing
I would like to know if this appeals to any of you.
This is open to all kit car drivers (and motorbikes as they keep up, no normal cars), you can bring your mate/missus/kid, etc. You can always choose your own accommodation to suit your pocket. Suggestions/help welcome with choosing destinations/hotels/planning etc.
Amendment 10/12/2014
Current Events I want to attend/plan:
Early May - Kit Car Show Stoneleigh 19th June - Roadtrip Scotland (south or north, I am not bothered) 18th July - Track Meet 6th AMM August - Roadtrip Brugges End August - Kit Car Show Donnington September - Roadtrip, Weather dependant France October - Roadtrip, Peak District

Interested, car won't be on the road until April next year, like the idea of Northern Scotland, what time frame are you considering?

Me too Bob - and my car is already on the road Nigel (....I was going to ask what you are building, but decided against it! ) Sounds like a great idea. Martin

Northern Scotland sounds interesting depending upon the timing. Mine should be road ready early spring.

I could be up for a Northern Scotland trip Bob, all depends on being on my 3 weeks off or not. Living in Glasgow makes it a bit easier for me..

Hi all
At the moment I would expect to plan Scotland for sometime June/July or maybe even August but this needs to be decided for sure by Jan so I can put dates in my own diary and everyone else can do the same.
Current Events I want to attend/plan:
Early May - Kit Car Show Stoneleigh End June - Roadtrip Scotland (south or north, I am not bothered) 18th July - Track Meet 6th AMM August - Roadtrip Brugges End August - Kit Car Show Donnington September - Roadtrip, Weather dependant France October - Roadtrip, Peak District

Don't forget car fest (toffee vodka) :-) Yeah....heard about that! In fact saw the evidence in the shape of an empty bottle . No repeat performance on the Sunday either . Anyway, WE got to drive in a convoy of MEVs around the track behind the pace car , and it wasn't raining all day! Martin

Road trip sounds good to me if I get the car on the road in time, if not I could always use my bike. Cheers Gary

Unless it doesn't sell, I won't be an MEV owner shortly ?
