Small update...my chassis (#98) came back from the powder coaters today! I am driving down Thursday and will pick up the chassis Friday morning. I will be sure to post pics ASAP. Received my Mishimoto radiator today and moved the OEM fans over, it looks like a good radiator that is double the size of the stock one.    |

I held them both and I couldn't really tell which one was heavier, the OEM Miata radiator is know to be a weak point so I choose to replace it since it was off the car. I decided to go with Gates hoses vs the silicone ones, I figured if the OEM ones lasted 100k miles then these will too.

I picked one up on eBay for 215 shipped a few weeks ago. Haven't opened the box yet to see the quality.

The weight the radiator adds is just a little more than the weight of the extra coolant about 1.5 gal. You can never have enough coolant.

I had a hard time trying to fit the mishimoto with the OEM fans into the exocet. I had to get slim fans to allow it to fit... The passenger side was pretty damn difficult too, even with the slim fan.

I could be wrong here but I am pretty sure you will need a radiator from a 90-97 to get it to mount the the exocet chassis using the supplied mounts. The in and out are in the same place but the tabs are different. Look at this thread. About half way down starting on September 28th are the relevant threads. |

I was under the same impression. I picked up the na mishimoto radiator due to the mounts from exomotive.

The NA radiator fits with the provided Exomotive mounts, if you use a NB you will have to make your own mounts.

If need be you can mount some pusher fan on the front of the radiator..
