KOTT, I've used the mk1 donor handbrake and cable without any pulleys and it appears to work fine (unless I've missed something).

Cheers, glad it's not just me then. I reckon I need two lines about 120cm long to sort the rear lines. Just had a call from RTR after they saw my post. They have explained how the lines in the pack are meant to fit and I now see why they are that length. However, as part of the build I wanted to route the lines around the chassis rather than leave them loose and trailing over to the rear swing arm. I explained what I wanted to do to the guys at RTR and they fully understand what I’m aiming to achieve. As a result they have offered to supply longer lines for me so I can route the lines round the chassis as planned. Great service and shows flexibility to help people with different build ideas.

No, you need to swap the calipers over (bleed nipple facing down) and swap the handbrake arms back to the original sides (facing forward).

No, you need to swap the calipers over (bleed nipple facing down) and swap the handbrake arms back to the original sides (facing forward). That's different, with the mk2 lever you just need to take out 35mm and weld the two pieces together. I have a pic somewhere, I'll post it when I find it.

Well it's a sad day today. I'm about to move house and the new gaff does not have enough room in the garage for me to work, so the Rocket has gone into storage. When I'm in a new workshop is being built so I'm hoping that she will only be away for about four weeks.. Until that point there will be no progress on my build.

Can you start on the wiring set up to keep the itch scratched?

Well that was a long four weeks. It's been a year since I did any work on my Rocket. The house move threw up many more challenges than I thought but I have now taken the Rocket out of storage and although my workshop is not as big as I would like at least I can start a bit of work again. Reckon I'll get a bit done thus weekend. Can't wait. Watch this space

Well I got a few hours work done on her today. Unfortunately I've gone backwards though as while she was in storage for a year I had thought about a few different ways of doing things so I have been taking stuff off and re doing things. Patience is a virtue.

So I have purchased this build from Anton. He hasn’t touched it for over 2 years and it needs some love. I intend to give the car that love. It has some rust on the chasis which needs sorting fairly soon incase I need to strip bits off. The engine needs some bits sorting and that is my priority as I want to get it in the car and then start plumbing / wiring. I will be getting my head around the bits I have bought with the car and the work I need to do before jumping in with the work. So engine has gone to a friends garage for a timing belt and I am tidying the garage and sorting out tools. Will keep the board up to date with my progress

I am now getting my head around the build - what goes where and how it all fits together. It was daunting at first and thought I might have bitten off more than I can chew. I am much happy now (2 months of ownership) and really enjoying the build. I have sourced a box and got the engine ready to go in. I was going to fit it on Saturday but the hoist I had borrowed had dry seals and did not work. Not a bad thing as we looked at the brakes and best to get them all finished before the engine and box make access difficult. Photos to follow.
