The car is now almost ready to go back on the road!!, I have completed the wrap around windscreen, paneling and also fancied a change so made a curved transmission tunnel. Hopefully if the weather holds up tomorrow I will get the bonnet fixed properly and ake a start on the tonneau cover

Very nice. Tunnel looks very good and very in keeping with the rest of the car. Well done.. Will it be at Stoneleigh?

Like the tunnel looks real period built. How about some wooden floor mat/inserts like period..

Top job, the round tunnel looks so much better, and the full panelling looks period, you can come and do mine if you want?

How did you do the tunnel? Thinking of something similar in alupanel

With the paneling I made templates out of lining paper, then transfered the template to 0.9mm aircraft aluminium, I then bent everything freehand until it looked right. Cheers

Wheels again, thinking of converting my hubs to splined using these adapters: shop.mwsint.com/product_details.asp?id=415I know they do an MX5 wheel but they are very expensive compared to the knock on wheels, having been out today I think 170/70/15 is just about the right tyre for gearing and ride quality.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but this is the route I wish Id gone as the 7j wires I bought with the kit are simply too wide for period width tyres, highly likely i'll be using 205 70 15s to suit the rim width rather than aesthetics.

Not sure they would, if I recall correctly (sure I read it somewhere) MX5 hub is 100mm

That's right, mx5 PCD is 100mm although you can get adapter stretch space the wheels out. May work depending on the desired offset.
