Standard stuff on the engine change seals and gaskets and re Lapp the valves as there is a bit of carbon build up on exhaust side And a lick of paint to the block just a general refresh of some parts

update on our winter progress so far well the mevsters home has had its roof refelted to stop the leaks and floor has been paved and covered in my living room carpet as I was too lazy to take it to the tip so engine out engine was stripped showing a bit of carbon build up we thought it would be good to take some time out to see some cars at the classic car show my only problem now seems to be that dave seems to be suffering from not driving the mevster and has started painting things again lol

quick update on our winter revamp engine is ready to be transplanted back into our mevster now we have refreshed the engine with new cam belt and a gasket replacement new tunnel panels made the passenger side was in two pieces but we have made it now from one piece for a better fit just waiting for the new year so we can get them dipped as the sheet wrap we had on was not up to the job
just need to bring all the parts back together as we seem to have parts of the car spread all over the place even the bonnet and rear clam are now keeping warm in my moms caravan lol

Weekend back in the garage and time to try and bring the mevster back to life so after a 20 min search for the radiator we finally fitted it and re filled it with anti freeze and oil So Saturday came and the key was turned seemed like at first the car did not want to be brought back so with some confused looks on mine and Dave's face we decided to charge the battery and try again on Sunday Sunday afternoon and it still would not start until we swapped fuel connections around It's ALIVE the MEV jumped into life to the sound we had heard all summer

So its been a while and I thought I would update our mevster progress if you have been following the Europe trip you would have seen our mevster suffered a engine failure due to knackered piston rings which we did not touch on our earlier engine refresh also dave found our radiator brackets where not up to scratch os while I wait for the car to return to mevster hq I thought I would make a new stronger lower bracket and bin the 2 bits of bent metal that I originally used I hope this works better

With the car back home Dave de briefed me about the trip and how the mevster ran Our eBay find engine worked well with no issues only needing a general service although the radiator did not look so good so another one has been ordered and we are now prepping for our peaks trip where I will be back as wing man to Dave and the mevster

Evening Gents,
Hope the winter tidying jobs are near completion!. Could I trouble you for a bit of info regarding your girl. I am looking for ground clearance to the underside of the floor panels and also from ground to the bottom of the rear diff. I am fabricating an exhaust and things are a little tight to say the least! it would make life much easier to drop the exhaust level a bit but I am concerned that she might foul!.
many thanks,
Hec
