Instead of using batteries and electric motor, would a small moped engine fit in it's place?
Is there room to have decent instrument display to make it road legal?

Well just bought the plans, waiting for the pdf to be sent now.
Need to find someone who can make up the chassis, as it would fall apart with my welding!

Stu, I have a related question. Speed, handling and motorways. You say this trike is not really suited for motorway use. Can you illuminate me on the feel or practicalities of what you mean please?
The reason being I am considering making one of these that has range. This incidently means most cells bunched up behind the front wheels to equalise the wheel loading.
I'd be tempted to gear a little higher. Build the motor axis in line with the swing arm axle. Avoid chain but use a 20mm wide belt.
