Just to be clear, you replaced the large OEM canister from under the car with this small one off eBay? Do you still have the small OEM one in the front of the car? That is correct. I am unsure if I still have the stock small one from the front of the old Miata. I have so many parts laying around, it may be like searching for a needle in a haystack... The idea was to cut down on the gas smell, which was never an issue. I figured that while I had it apart to fix the gas filler hose I might as well try this out. If it doesn't work well I will report back and still have the stock large canister that I can swap back in.

Thank you, another quick question: did you go with the street version of the v maxx extremes?

And, after living with the FM V-Maxx XXtreme coilovers - Sport package, would you do it again? Robert

I would. I think for the price, the value is hard to beat. I am looking forward to getting the tophat spacers on though (for reasons that I've listed before).

Thanks for that. Another tidbit for those that will use the Exomotive gauge cover. The thing is difficult to cut, and even more difficult to get aligned correctly. I tried to build a template for the gauges and transfer that to the fiberglass. I made the cut and it looks good, but I couldn't get the gauge to fit correctly. This doesn't bother me much, as I plan to build something out of sheet metal. The Exomotive cover wouldn't work with my windshield angle either. . .

I'm glad it all worked out so smoothly. Congrats on the Ref and Plates and thanks for the awesome thread. I think I might start my project sometime soon.

75deg here today in NorCal. Thought it would be a good day to take out the Exo. Who says you can't commute to work?

Steadfast ... going back a couple of posts, did you get the "stock" spring rates on your VMAXX coil overs from FM, or something different? Guessing what FM lists is more in line with what would work well with a Miata, but with less weight, it that too much spring rate for an Exocet? I'm getting ready to put those on order on my side and would greatly appreciate your input !

I got different. I called someone at FM (I think it was Keith) and told them this would be for my Exocet and my weight would ultimately be 1400-1500 and he added the springs that suited the application.

I forgot the weight ratings but I posted a screen shot of my springs with the part number in my build thread.
