Congratulations to Paul who passed his Rocket today in B'ham. Paul said he would post pic/details later. Well done mate, first time too for you and the car.

Yep, very pleased with the result, I've started a thread in the IVA/DVLA forum with details of the day.
Thanks to Stiggy & the MEV team for fantastic support throughout (as usual)

Wow, is that four Rockets this week? Is Stonleigh big enough? Well done Paul Yes 4 in a week!!! Hopefully we will be able to collect our "10" plates from the DVLA on Friday (or at least the certificate giving permission to get them made) and a tax disc starting May 1st. £205 a year for tax seems steep, they should have a special rate for kit cars... Paul Holmes. P.S. IVA for Atomic coming up soon... yikes

Hi Paul
I was shocked at paying £190 when my family focus (same engine put presumably higher emissions due to more weight) is only £150. However, for non type approved cars we get lumped into one of two brackets, It went up in the budget and its now either below 1549cc @£125 or above @£205.
I do understand it, but my 2.0l mondeo that clocks about 25000 miles a year costs £150/year, and my 1.6 Rocket that does 3000 miles a year is £190, go figure
Cheers

Tax for the 6 months you are more likely to use the car is not a bad idea. I tend to drive demos with no tax when it's snowing. Stiggy
