Hello I've recently started my build, the log is here for those interested. This is my first foray into building a kit, or doing anything with a car full stop to be honest (I've changed a wheel once, that's about it). So all this is a bit new to me hence I'll be asking lots of stupid questions, hopefully you kind people will be able to help me out! My first question... I'm building the front suspension up and notice that the springs have different numbers on them, 2 are labelled "8 225" and the other two labelled "8 300". Which should be used for the front, and which for the rear. thanks /moog Edited to add build log link.

Hi, welcome to the forum
The 225 and 300 will be the spring weights so 225 at the front and 300 rear.
Will you not be doing a build thread on this forum? I don't do facebook if thats where it'll be.
Good look

Great to see another build, my truck of parts arrived today, so I will be starting soon. Same position as you, first build so we can take it in turns with the stupid questions My first stupid question is where is the build manual? I was given a password and looked on the forum but can't find a mevabusa one, or even a tR1ke which is similar. Thanks

Thanks Slugshot, my build log of incompetence is here. Pips, good luck with the build. The bad news is that there isn't a manual, but Paul emailed me some parts of the Tr1ke manual which shares the front end with the 'busa, so I'm still waiting on that too. If you PM me your email I'll send you what I have. I've found it's worth taking a good luck at some of the pics in the other build logs ('busa and Tr1ke) to make sure I'm doing it right. /moog

Help me out here guys. I need to undo the rack ends and the photo in the manual is very small. Is the bit that I need to undo, the part in the red box below? I don't see any lock pins or anything, but it seems crazy tight, am I just being a wuss? /moog

I think that's the bit you undo. Have you tried putting it in a vice. Thats what I did. Pic only shows what it looks like after it is removed. Bob

Yes the part in the red box needs to be undone, if I remember correctly I nipped it in the vice very tight and put a long bar (for leverage) through the rack mounting hole on the left bottom of the pic and with a bit of effort it should loosen.

Ok, thanks, I'll give it a go. It's vice'd at the moment, I was trying with a pair of water pump pliers. I'll see if I can get some more leverage. cheers /moog

Welcome to the forum.
Just a bit of advice. As the advert says "It's good to Talk", I would however remove your private mobile number from your post and send a private message to Mr Moog with your contact details contained within that.
The site has been bombarded with spam recently and you really don't want someone getting a hold of your number.

I've had to make a couple of custom tools so far, one for switching out the steering rack and another for pressing the rear bearings in. I'm happy to lend them to other builders if you think they'll help, just cover the postage and return when you're done. Steering rack tool: Rear Bearing Tool: /Moog Build Log here

Afternoon all, it's been a while since I've posted on here, I have my blog which I keep most of my updates on (linked above), so this thread has been fairly quiet. I did however want to run this past you guys, I'm just plumbing the water works together and this is how I was looking at doing it. I'll be throwing away the 'busa expansion tank and using a 'universal header tank' instead and mounting this high up on the bulkhead in a similar way to the black Mevabusa that has just hit the road and was at Stoneleigh. Does this look right? As with everything else I'm doing on this car, it's all new to me. Obviously it's not to scale /Moog
