Sorry I meant how will it flex? My basic mechanics would imply that it's not structural unless there is a twisting force. Indeed there is no such part on many other wishbones.

The only issue i can see is that, at the point where the centre piece is chopped out, the profile of each of the V legs in the arm goes from a U shape to more of a L shape.
under normal conditions no biggie but (and i am just guessing here) any severe load or topping out against the bumpstop - like a curb hit - will probably cause it to fold at that point.
Not sure if it would have done it anyway; but for the sake of a bit of plate, is it really worth taking the chance? Thats my thinking here.

Good news: wishbone plates will be with me in 5 days.
Bad news: just got word from wifey type that a package has arrived from gaz ... A bag of bloody washers. Honestly, not good enough!
How hard is it just to make up a single-piece spacer?! Failing that, sort the rod length!
