Hi all,
I just picked up my Donor, a Focus ST170, and I am hoping to run it, with parts destined for the Rocket ST, for a few months.
RTR were very good about answering questions by and large, but my ST will come with big brakes (300mm) that it'd be a shame to let go to waste; I've been told they won't work on the Rocket. This makes me worry that any aftermarket brake set I buy for it might not fit. Ditto pedal sets, exhaust components, etc. At least 1 build involving my engine choice doesn't fit in the engine cover!
Most people seem to go the hi-spec 4-pot root up front, which I believe take 280/285mm (?) discs; if I hope to get these in advance of my kit, is there any pointer to knowing whether they'll fit? Getting stuff shipped from RTR every time I need it is going to be pricey; and precludes the bargain hunting on fleabay/gumtree that I so love :-)
Or is that verboten? Are 'encouraged' to get everything from The One True Supplier?

On. I will be switching from my hispec to a completely independent hydraulics system and will be popping the dual operation IVA friendly up for sale

I have my ST170 donor now, so as far as I'm aware, the rears are taken care of. The fronts are a WIP. I'll keep an eye out for Hi-specs, but the documentation is, putting it mildly, 'light' on detail, there are virtually no measurements in it, it's difficult to know which ones I think I'll be working from others' build guides.
I'd like to get the gear bought ahead of time where I can find it cheaply, but the risk of buying stuff, it not fitting, and then losing money selling it again is pretty big. I might wait till I get my completion kit, measure everything, then buy what'll fit.
