Satin black GRP dash board, cut out for clocks, these look correct for the period although the layout differs from the 50's as the race cars had rev counters and no speedo. The speedo shown is cable driven and the correct ratio for running straight of the MX5 gearbox with the standard drive cable.

Dash now bolted to chassis, this allows all instrument wiring and full car tests including driving before the body is fitted. Dash can be removed with body in place for future maintenance.

I have to say the side profile of the body looks absolutely beautiful.

I have been watching the progress of this, I have to admit I don't really like old 'retro' cars much, apart from 6R4 and gt40, But this is very nice indeed Stuart. Possibly when the rocket is done and I need a new project :-)

Possibly when the rocket is done and I need a new project :-) It is looking nice.. And if a gt40 kit ever appeared in the MeV stables.. I would be in the queue lol. could also be tempted for an rs200 style. Nice work Stuart.

Prob with gt40 is you need to fit the right sort of power plant, and it would need to be a big money build to be right, and this rocket is costing me enough of what I don't have :-)
