I love the colour contrast with the chrome wire wheels. I will be adding roundels and a large number 5 to the doors later.

Yes it is gel coat Paul. We polish it up and remove all the flash lines etc before sending them out. This adds an extra 8 hours of elbow grease but it is worth while. Here is a picture of the rear corner showing how we have added plinths for the stop/tail, indicator and reflectors. There is also provision for a rear number plate with two recessed circles behind the plate for bolting the body to the chassis. Lights are supplied in the kit, they are the original Lucas ones but we have added fog and reverse lights with a chrome case that are E marked and look the part.

I got this 160mm dia hole cutter from ebay for £11. It was a little scary using it, go too slow and it jams and takes you round with it, too fast and hope you don't brake your wrist. A safe option is to drill about 50 small holes in a circle slightly smaller than the headlight. Then join them up with a pad saw or file drill and bobbin sander. Next I used a smaller hole cutter to recess the indicators. They look neat, come included in the kit and are 21 watt and will comply with IVA requirements Next job was fashioning a trim and grille for the fog light recess. The original cars had a light behind the grille. I cut 2 circles of 1.5 mm alloy floor off-cut and bent the edge with pliers to finish it off. I have not cut a hole but have covered it with an off cut of mesh. Side repeaters are required by law, these chrome rim jobs look the part! The padded headrest finishes off the aero bulge. The nose reveal needed the added bars.

Just added the side vent detail. I feel it would be better to leave the grp backing the hole for production cars, the customer can then either cut it out or paint it black, the silver bar can then slide in from the inside. I secured an alloy plate with PU adhesive to close the hole. I like how you can see the reflection of the chassis and the MEVSTER in the background. Period seats having a trial fit. I also fitted the pedal and steering column to ensure position and fit.

So it may be worth investing in a core drill, which is used in the building industry for drilling a core through brick work or concrete, i.e. pipes through walls. these drills have a clutch, which can save your wrists! The body and chassis look superb by the way, looking forward to seeing the car at Stoneliegh. That car is gorgeous! And your pace on this project is astounding! I'd love to see it in person at Stoneliegh, but I suspect Soneleigh a long ways from Oregon, sigh. I'll have to be patient and wait for Kevin to get one at Exomotive.

Fog and reverse lights added for IVA regs. You can see two holes behind the number plate for fixing the body to the frame. Fly screen cut from polycarb. Supplied in the kit but in this case kindly donated by RTR, what nice guys.
