Thought id post a few quotes, as and when i recieve them.
Im 38yrs, 3 years NCB, 3 points from mr policeman (clear this year), and 1 accident 3 years ago ( scammed by a repeat claimer).
Probably average history:).
Car spec - Rocket 2100cc Turbo declared.
Questions asked about history of driving experience in powerful cars, no problems there lol.. 2gether insurance - £250 PARTS ONLY £350 COMP agreed value £150 excess.
Need2Insure - still on the case
Frank Pickles - Parts only, fully comp, but NO CHASSIS NUMBER COVER.? No good until registered. £293.64
Footman James - MEV ROCKET is not on the acceptable vehicle list, they will not cover it? I am very concerned about why, they inform me that they wont cover anything like an ariel atom. Full stop!
Need2Insure inform me, that they are also finding this the case.
Will this have a knock on for ANY exosceletal vehicle?

I know some MEV owners are currently covered by Footman James, please let me know if you get a renewal with them!

After advice from RTR, giving MSM a call comes back with a fully comp agreed value cover at £355, not bad, but still way higher than expected by everybody!
Bleeding ridiculous, considering my Robin Hood was 112£ agreed value fully comp.
Suggestions anyone?

Have you tried Adrian Flux. Not insured my rocket yet but they insured my Caterham for 190 fully comp.

Not yet bob, but they didn't quote me happy with a BMW diesel last year. They'll have to be good for me to give them any form of business on pure principal.
Direct line can go and whistle also, thankfully they don't do kit cars lol.

Not sure about the Rocket but I know REIS cover modified MX5s and race cars and they get good feedback. A couple of trackdays are allowed in the cover too (well on the MX5s they are) they do race cars themselves so may be worth a try. Performance Direct ?? I had my donor (modified import MX5) with them quite reasonably and they do say they cover kits.
Just some ideas.

msminsurance.co.uk/MSM insurance have always proven very competitive and when it comes to claim time, MSM's policies always come through with a payment. They will also duplicate no claims from other vehicles. RTR

REIS rang back, and requested £1174 of my hard earned pennies for a track day /sports policy. Nice polite gent on the phone, ran through al the usual questions. Again, agreed value, 240hp declared for this year as power output. The choice was having trackday cover, or widscreen cover. So, the cost was the same with the track cover removed. Dont think ill be bothering.

Did you find out the issue with footman james?

I was quoted at 200hp max also, as I was running it in. 875£ ish same deal.
I did run through all scenarios, like clean license and no bumps. Still very high.

Sorry to hear that. I must admit I asked REIS a while back about multicar for 2 mx5s and an Audi A6 quattro 2.8 but because none of the cars had a value over £12,000 they wouldn't quote me.
