Well as I am 90% complete on my car I decided to take out the insurance so I have some piece of mind while its in the garage and no issue when I finally get it on the road.
I am a 24yr old with one speeding ticket and I have managed to get some great insurance with sure term. I did get a grilling on my driving history wanting to know what high powered cars I own, have owned and have driven. Luckily my current car is a 230bhp seat leon so they passed me on this criteria.
Got fully comp insurance with breakdown and legal cover for £195. My only advice is if you are a younger driver it does make things not as straight forward. Even once I had the quote it had to be ok'd by the superviser. So if you get quoted does not mean that they will then give you the insurance.
Just a word of warning.

I will have to be doing this shortly and being 20 not going to be cheap so anyone younger have had an insurance quote.

Ont know if it is just them or not.

Sureterm have been pretty good to me, I have V12 5l BMW, 3L V6 MR2 and 4x4 and all there quotes come in good (less than 200 a year each), no no claims needed or earnt, heard horror stories of people 28 paying 1400 for a 1.2 shopping trolley, depends where you shop around.
