We finished the pattern (buck/plug) on schedule. The mould is now almost complete. Here is a picture taken last week of the blue gloss finished wooden pattern with a board being offered up to make a split flange. I decided not to put the wing vents in that are on the original but they can be added to the inside of the mould if a customer would like them in. The first kits will be available for delivery at the end of Jan, mine first, please form an orderly queue!

Lots of us folks in the later time zones are following this one, I'll let the LocostUSA group know you have the pattern finished, and give them a link to this page.
Will you be making a left headrest version? One thing I like about CAD/CAM is the ease of doing mirror images.

Jack, how are you? Long time no hear. A true replica of this fine British race car would need to be RHD in BRG. I would love to buy a 58 Vette in RHD. No chance! Of course we will make a LHD version, we do not intend to limit the market. We are starting a Chevy V8 chassis first week in Jan. Regards Stiggy

I'm good, thanks. I've been on this forum for a couple of years now but don't post much because frankly, I haven't had much to say that's relevant. But your DBR1 replica has perked people up here in the colonies...I think we're getting kinda tired of Cobras.
I'm a classic British race car fan myself, but I'm hardly a "true replica" kind of guy. These last few years I've been driving around in a street version of a Lola Mk1, but the only way you could call it a replica is if you stand way back and squint, and it's LHD because when I drive RHD over here, oncoming traffic knocks mirrors off my doors.

I wouldn't expect a genuine DBR1 to come in LHD, but...if I were making a 58 'Vette replica and GB was showing the same interest in it that the US is showing for your DBR1, I'd sure make a RHD version. But since I'd wager most of your US customers will put a roll bar on their DBR1, where you put the head faring may not be much of an issue on the LHD version.
