Afternoon!
:)Just a quick one. Any reason why other engines couldn't be used?
Maybe a bit of fabrication for swingarm & engine mounts, but otherwise the rest of the build would be unchanged wouldn't it?
Thought a RSV or Duke Vtwin would sound lovely...... ;D
Thanks, Adam

They'll gladly build a tR1ke to fit any motor, the loom will be different, the swingarm mount will be different, the top shock mount will be different, the engine mounts will be different, the radiator location will have to change, the exhaust may need to be modified to clear the chassis. Give them a bell and pay a deposit! It would sound lovely.

Sorry forgot to add, you'll have to pay for the modifications. And you'll have to think of a new name, also join the AA if you use an aprilia v twin, I reckon a Triump speed triple would sound good too!

Thanks Fozzy Some good points I hadn't thought of, though hopefully that's the most that would change and some of them would be the same if I'm lucky (like the rad might go in the same place if the engine's roughly the same size/shape, and the shock might be the same if it's mounted the same way on the swingarm)...... Once i've moved house (to get the garage space...) I might go over for a visit to talk to them about it. Otherwise just stick with R1, no real problem with them, just fancying something different! Ad

P.S. Keep up the photos on your other post, they're excellent!
Good motivation for others I reckon...... ;D

The v-twin motors tend to have the front cylinder quite forward projecting, which often means the radiators are on the side, it's certainly possible though. The lads at RTR would love to build hundreds of tR1kes with all sorts of engines.
I think the Yamaha MT-01 motor would be a good call, I believe they used R1 suspension. 1700cc twin cylinder would be awesome.
Paul at RTR has an XJR1300 and he fancies a tR1ke that would make a good combination also.
The problem is you'd have to rename the kit!!
