It is a coincidence I've been looking at the dan-moto pipe for a few weeks. Thinking shall I get one even though here in the UK we have to add vat+import tax on goods from china. And then another coincidence last Saturday a gsxr1000 came into my Friends breakers shop with a dan-moto megaphone fitted, so of course I had to give it a rev to see how loud it was.....VERY is how loud it was ;D.....That's my Christmas presy sorted then Cheers Kevin

Looking through Ebay this exhaust item number 190619456238 could be interesting and different from the standard side hung bike exhaust. I would imagine MSVA will be a problem so fitting after, think I will try to get more info dBa quoted as 105. Price looks good but carriage a little high and will there be import and VAT to pay.

105 dba is really loud, you will get in trouble with the police... And the neighbours... 82 is the maximum. A nice small solution but I think it is a little too loud.

Yep. More than 16 times louder.

Whilst looking for a solution for track and normal driving, this was a modified pipe to incorporate two exhaust paths. Using a lever adjusting plate, it woukd divert the exhaust rasp via either a race can or when closed, divert the exhaust to a secondary and maybe out of sight quiet exhaust. Ideal for that sticky awkward Police moment and something I'm now considering to do with my TR1KE.

This is,the answer to my prayers, for the fuzz and for noise control on the track days.
Go to eBay
Type in Exhaust Sound Controller.
The device is less than £100. Can be welded inline onto my system, and has an electric butterfly valve to restrict gas flow so noise :-) oh yes, I'm going to be buying one of these and will weld it into the pipe as it joins my slip on can.

Sounds like the exup type valves you get in motorbikes.

The EXUP creates bottom end torque for setting off in first, so as long as you don't alter or replace it (It wont), it should be fine, as the problem I have had in the past has been noise at the track day, road limit I think 94DB, track limit 105DB, my exhaust 109db :-)
So as long as it reduces that for the test, that and driving through built up areas then I will be very happy, Its all to be tried for, if it doesn't work on my trike, it will on my Cafe Racer

It might be worth experimenting with the EXUP valve disconnected from the servo cables, and with a db meter measure the difference by manually opening and shutting it. If it reduced the noise enough it would be easy to rig a switch to cut the power to the servo motor, you would just flick the switch at idle revs when the valve is closed.
Or just buy a quieter silencer ;D
Cheers Kevin

Well I'm not buying a quieter silencer, and i'm not messing with the Exup unit, I will buy one of these I think.
