I have welded some strips to the frame. There are some pics on this forum about this. Sent from my GT-S5660 ditto!

My son & I managed to put the motor in,yesterday, after a bit of adjusting the brackets with a pipe wrench & sledgehammer. I was called & told the missing parts were being sent soon,so the front suspension may be done before my b-day this month :^) i1161.photobucket.com/albums/q518/seabee70/motorin.jpg

Thanks for the compliment,Edwin. During your build, you experienced what I & another builder have seen. The oem shock spring allows the kit to sag quite a bit when the operator & passenger are in it. I believe I read where you were thinking of using a progressive spring for the rear shock,so I have to ask fi you are using one or something else ? I'll ask Rik how he solved that problem & if anyone reading this has a solution, please share it with us. Thanks guys....

Hi Seabee, its looking good so far.
Fitting a stronger spring on the rear shock will help, but the OE damper will struggle to damp the rebound especially when hot.
A ride height adjuster to increase the ground clearance would be better and retain the comfy ride as std. also a quality shock with more damping control would be good.

I just mounted a stiffer spring (about 230 N/mm), the original really is much too soft for the tr1ke. And, I made the ride height approx 7 cm higher by altering the upper fixing point of the rear shock. I don't think I have pictures but I will explain later.

Hi Val, My car still has standard rear spring. Sufficient for standard / sporty but road legal driving. When driving > 80km/h Mrs. Edwinwl is already suggesting to slow down....
Car is leaning backwards, so on higher speed less stable. (> 100km/h) The rear spring I also add to the list of todo's.

Seems like the carb suspension is slightly different vs the injection suspension. I think a visit to Hyperpro might be worth to give it a shot. I heard custom wound springs are not expensive.

Sounds reasonable for converting a rollator into a F1 car

The injection r1 must be different, I fitted a shock from a one and its stiffer than with the early r1 shock. the spring is fine but the damping could be better. But it needs more ride height when taking a passenger.
