Had a great day at Donington yesterday which started out with me, CarbonBob and JimK heading up in convoy from the A14 to the show. Many looks as we were traveling together up the A14/M1. Good turnout of cars and great company as allways.

Well done Mabbs, obviously they did not see my Exocet race car complete with scars parked near your car! Have you any pictures of you being awarded your prize from CBS? I was flattered and delighted to receive my award. It was presented to me by Steve Hole of TKC. He did a heart warming speech. What a nice genuine bloke.

Congratulation to both Stuart and Jon, it makes me feel proud to be part of MEV ;D
I'll sort through my pic's over the next couple of days but in the mean time here's a little youtube video of the Auto-test Hooligan's at Donington for those that missed the show.

From my stance it is very difficult to justify doing 3 shows in the same part of the Country when they are only a few months apart. The reality is that a good proportion of the visitors to Stoneleigh also went to Newark and Donington. That's fine if you are not trying to sell anything. Now if a show were held North in the peak summer that would be a boost to the industry in terms of showing our wares to a predominately different crowd and hopefully under the sun. It has always seemed very odd to me that all the shows are in the shoulder months of the summer, I am told by the organisers of the various shows however that summer shows don't draw big crowds due to holidays. Shame really when the best chance of good weather for our fair weather cars is coincidently when there is no show to attend. Now if a show took place at a track with a fee for track use and manufacturers/parts and tools folk were charged a smallish fee to erect a mini marque next to their owners area to display and sell from, you could probably have a big show! So how about Croft or Blighton. They are further North, fairly low cost venues, July maybe, £30 for half an hour on track perhaps. What do you guys think? Sorry that should be Blyton, or I wonder if manufacturers would travel to Knockhill. It's been some years since a Scottish kit car show took place.

Hi Stuart,
The MX5OC had exactly the same issue with one show in spring and one in late summer with the inevitable weather problems. This year they had a motorsport orientated show at Blyton in high summer (unfortunately a very wet weekend) and it went down very well. They will probably make it an annual event now.

Hi Stuart. The Scottish Kit Car show took place at the Royal Highland Center, Ingliston this year after a long break. www.scottishcarshow.com15th of July, and from what I have heard it was a really good event, so good in fact that they are already preparing for next years show. I was thinking of going next year and possibly getting a pitch in the Top 50 area which is indoors. I know of two of us that would attend, a Rocket and a Sonic and was thinking of getting some Posters and handouts from RTR and yourself for at bit of promotional work north of the border. I'm sure that there is someone building an Exocet up here that would be finished by then. Even with building the Rocket in the garage I have lost count of the number of people that have just walk up and asked questions about it. Although I have managed to get down to Donnington and Stoneleigh I don't mind the journey but for 95% of interested people north of the border it's just to far and too expensive. Hence the fantastic turnout at the Ingliston show. Ned
