What would the total cost be to build a mevabusa? I have seen the kit is £6k + vat and doner could be £2.5k but what else would be needed. How cheap could it be done? Cheers.

You could probably do it for less than 10k. But you can get carried away. Im upto about 16k on the bits I want.

Dont forget to factor in the sales of Hayabusa parts from the donor that you will not need, thye are in big demand as people keep dropping them, or falling off, 4 wheels and a bike engine sounds like a great idea to me!

Dont forget to factor in the sales of Hayabusa parts from the donor that you will not need, thye are in big demand as people keep dropping them, or falling off, 4 wheels and a bike engine sounds like a great idea to me! Euhm, I think that's a misleading advertisement statement. A while ago I started this thread: www.mevowners.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tr1ke&action=display&thread=2423I have added all costs/sales of my project in an Exell sheet to see what the real price tag will be at the end of my build. 100% =costs bike 120% worth of adds 60% sold up to now. Keep in mind this is a 14000milage bike used as donor which seems acceptable to me. Higher milage means lower investment in the bike and easier to get even on the donor. As for now I think it is possible to get even or slightly less as buying the parts from dismantlers IF you refresh your adds on a daily base like I do. I do expect my fellow t1ke builders being ashamed of their little parts shop because of zero replys. Keep in mind several items of the Mevabusa aren't priced on the website and expect them to be very expensive and not included with the kit but well needed. stu, I am looking forward to new future designs where the licence plate is incorperated in the design. In europe we cannot use self adhesive licence plates as in the UK... especially the front plate on most kits are mounted eastatically very wrong. Even the tr1ke has a less than desired rear plate location. example: www.kitcarcollection.com/used-cars/mevrocketdemo.phpbr, Erik

Hi Erik,
Your experience is in Holland and therefore not relevant to UK buyers, several of whom have said that they are in profit after selling their spare bike parts for more than the original cost of the bike itself.
We don't intend to mislead buyers and there is a thread on the forum that clearly states the prices achieved by selling off spare parts of donor bike.
You can spend vast sums of money on any kit but there is always a budget option as well. A chain diff can cost £250 or £1250 for example depending on it's spec

Thought an article in the latest edition of ckc might be relevant. Article on mid engined r1 powered car (wont say which one). Builder bought 2006 crash damaged R1 FOR £2200. Sold unwanted parts for £2000. Engine all running gear, clocks etc.......for £200....simples.
