The 477.5kgs was after we had removed the tank, pedal assemblies, wiring harness, battery, heater and steering column etc. The PPF (power plant frame) includes engine/diff/box/brakes etc The Exocet chassis weighs only 57.5 kgs but then for the picture we added seats, tunnel, bulkheads and body panels. It is only short of a tank and lights/column/pedals etc.

So unless im missing something obvious the total weight of an Exocet is circa 500kg? Impressive!
I dont know why but for some reason i had a figure of approx 700kg in my head.

Mine came in at just under 700kg when it was weighed at the IVA. You have to remember that there's still plenty to add in to the two photos above such as seats, fuel tank, fuel etc...
I think the exact weight of mine was 682kg, but I got rid of the MX5 seats and fitted some of Stiggy's lightweight fibreglass ones instead.

Just on the topic of weight saving can anyone tell me how much the MK Composites fiberglass seats weigh each? My wallet is not agreeing with the engine mods i would like to do so now I'm playing the bhp/tonne game and figured if i can get my standard 130bhp 1.8 in a 600kg car rather than a 700kg I'm looking at 216bhp/tonne instead of 185bhp/tonne. Cheers guys

ali fuel tank .. maybe save a few kgs?non-oversize/ lightweight alloys, same again... small battery.. maybe a kg? i think standard seats are around 15-20 kgs - big old lumps! fiberglass closer to 5kgs...

Hello, I'm new to the forums, and plan on purchasing a race Exocet next year when the funds will allow. How much more does the race version frame weigh compared to the base?
