Nice footage Kevin and a nice day too. I take it Blyton are quite happy to have tR1kes at any of their track days? Maybe one day I will try to come and join you but I just haven't had much time lately:-( How's that roll bar behaving? Looks like the tR1ke stays very flat now :-)

Another clip, and to think at the start of the day some were looking at me with a look as if they were wondering why would you want to track a 3 wheeler, how very dare they, take a look at what I shared the track with...

The problem I had before was with Javelin who won't let us play, the tR1ke's not safe apparently. As for the ARB...yes its working a treat, Iv'e got my lap time down to 1m 14.0s from 1m 19s though some is from getting used to track driving the tR1ke. PS....I'm there again on monday so why not come, I'm sure you'll not be busy

I don't remember a reliant kitten being that quick:-) and the 7 at the end is quite funny:-). Ah I see, I hope by you going out quite a bit that will show other track day organisers that our tR1kes are perfectly safe but I won't hold my breath. I'm still going to try and get Cadwell to let me run on an evening one but that won't be until next spring now. I would love to join you on Monday but as you may be able to guess I have a smidge on at the mo:-) unfortunatly we only have 4 and he broke one so the spare needs sorting out :-( Hope the weather is kind and have fun though, and please keep the footage up it makes me smile :-)

Actually I meant to ask you a couple of things:-) I have had one instance of brake fade ? though I will admit I had a post 100kg chap in the passenger side from work but it cought me out as the brakes are always outstanding. They came back when I went home and they had obviously cooled down and I had been doing a bit sporting driving round some real twisty stuff. Are you on the standard pads from RTR? And also having done a few miles without a clean In between ( I have struggled not to clean due to OCD) and I reckon it's quite rich as there's lots of soot, what jets did you have before the airbox change please :-) Cheers :-)

Hi Andy, I'm using the cheap ebc blackstuff pads, I did try some mintex 1144(I think) fast road-trackday pads at Llandow but for me they're not as good, the tR1ke's not heavy enough to make them work properly. No initial bite until they're warm plus they squeak like mad. The only time I get spongy brakes is when its been sat for a short while after a track session, I just pump the peddle until its solid and then its fine again for the next session. It would take a lot of hard braking on the road for mine to get a long peddle plus Iv'e taken quite a few larger chaps out for a spin at blyton with no fade, I wonder if dot 5 is worth a try.
Regarding the jetting
The std pilot jets are too big, I went down 1 size to 12.5 from 15 though the 5jj has 17.5 std I weakened the needle at least 1 notch mine came fitted with 138 main jets, std are 130. I played around with air ducts to the carbs so my main jet size would be misleading, I would just go smaller on the pilots and lower the needles and try it if you have 130 mains
With my ram air box I'm on 22.5 pilots....richest clip on the needles and 150 mains plus I vented some of the pressured air straight back out of the pre filtered air box as the mains would need to be very big.

The fluid is a good idea it's got dot 4 in at the mo. I will have a look at the jets and needle height and see where it is, for all I know it could be miles away from standard as I haven't actually checked them as it runs really well but I know its rich. Thanks for the info it will be a good starting point :-)
Have you dyno'd to see what your air box gives you? Or you working on old fashioned seat of the pants feel :-)

Have you dyno'd to see what your air box gives you? Or you working on old fashioned seat of the pants feel :-) I don't think a dyno room would be any good at jetting for the increased airflow that the scoop has. I have a wideband AFR with the sensor in the exhaust, I found a quiet road and took the readings at different speeds and throttle positions. I had been told that you don't want to mess with the r1 airbox setup as its hard to get right, I'm glad I didn't take any notice lol. As for any increase in power, I would say so yes... but then I would wouldn't I

Think it suprised alot of them LB track rats you were out with. Seen you go flying past on one of the vids, might be the one with man in mirror, only fools horses etc.....Not sure now. Busa wont be ready for LB Friday 13th March one. But want to book a few days in may so it has to be ready by then.
