The fuel pump can only flow fuel from the tank if the tank isn't vacuumed, as I said even when the valve is open they don't flow as well as without a valve. The valve is there to stop fuel and vapour escaping but not restrict the air entering the tank. The valve I used did restrict the flow but if you don't use full throttle for long you probably won't have a problem.
Just using 1 valve won't help at all, the restriction is in the valve, but using a y piece and 1 good quality valve will be fine.
Cheers Kevin

Hi Paul, I am not sure a flap valve will stay closed when the car thumbles over.
Nice website!

Hi Eric, are you looking for a valve with another way of shutting off the fuel, are you thinking of the type with a light spring and a little ball bearing if not what type are you thinking of.
Ill do a little test and see if the cbs valve shuts off, and also see how it flows with 5psi of pressure.
I have changed the r1 fuel pump for a facet posi flow 4-6 psi and its mounted near the outlet of the left tank, although its rated at a higher psi than the r1 pump it has to pump upto the carbs. It is designed for use with carbs so it shuts of when the carbs are full. Cheers Kevin

Right now I need a solution which works for MVSA. I haven't been able to mount a 6mm dia hose on the breather pipe and I don't think I will be able to mount the 7mm breather valve on a 8mm hose. Or would I be in need for the T-piece 8x8x8 to reduce 2x8mm to 1x7mm to mount this valve? www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/In_Line_Fuel_Tank_Breather_Valve_FTBV2Yes, I do think a spring+ball type valve is my favourite choice because it is always closed unless a vacuum. Too bad your experience tells us it doesn't work properly. Yeah! the shocks look like the real deal

Hi Eric, tonight I tested the 8mm valve with fuel and it stopped the fuel escaping, so no problem there but flap valve was stuck tight at first because its not been used for a while.
The 7mm valve from cbs would probably be ok with 8mm rubber pipe, I might try one myself so thanks for the info.
Cheers Kevin

You may open the valve and add a bit teflon spray or a drop of oil. i am looking forward to your test results greets! Erik

Yes I think I will have a look at those. thx! Bad news is the front wheels have been delivered somewhere in the city. DPD tracking doesn't show street+house number... and a banjo bolt I got today is too short. good news is the rear wheel looks classy now!
