No not the water pipes, the pictures! I am going to slap Adrians legs when he gets to Newark. You can almost see what we have been up to on the mev site now! Teasing may mean more will attend the Newark show to see this new Mev in the flesh (GRP). If you are a member of other forums then please post the pictures so we can attract more potential visitors to the show. I should be promoting the car not the show but I can wait. Only just over a week now. Come on RTR get that paint on!

Am I missing something? I can't see any pictures anywhere. Which site are they on? I can't stand the suspense!

Styling influences were from an Elise in certain areas. When I introduce a form that people are already familiar they feel comfortable as they can pigeon hole it and it is therefore easier to have it accepted. That said the engine is in the other end of the Lotus and the roof is much lower, the wheel base is longer, the front/rear overhangs are much smaller and the doors suck in a long way. The MEVX5 price is £2500 for the body kit inc lighting set, rear window and headlamp covers.

Indeed, heavy styling influences from our friends in Hethal. A modern day Lotus Elan....at a very competitive price with a great chassis.

my only problem with this is, that it might look too much like a ferrari replica, and i hate replicas...
front and rear kinda look ferrari ish, but the middle looks like a mustang (if you squint) i hope it looks nice when finished as i am very interested...
ill post these on locost builders

Nah not for me this is basically a glorified MX5 hardtop, and a way to tell the world I couldn't afford a Lotus (which annoys me because I can if I was THAT desperate). Given the design of the car there won't be that much extra space, there would I think be more weight though.
For the price I could just run my 5 to a bodyshop get my dents, paint, and rust (you should know the sills on these rust like crazy, and hiding them under a body kit just means a rude surprise later), and soft top fixed if they were that bad. Dunno about your comments with the window, I've never had a problem and the soft top and the hard top has amazing field of view. Also a 'tired looking mk1' for £500 won't just look tired it will BE tired and will almost certainly need considerable rust repairs at that price. I don't think this looks compatible with rollbars (or at least some of them) either.
Sorry if I'm seem harsh but after the Exocet, and after the hype I expected something better then stick on panels, and half truths. So I'm bleeding out my disappointment. I doubt you'll get many pre-existing 5 owners buy this.
