Cheers Chris
The rear calipers I have are from an 04 onwards, different carrier so holes don't match. Guy that sold them to me on eBay told me they were no1. Plonker. Borrowed a pair of no1's and they do fit perfectly.

Yes I know what you mean, My first budget mark has come and gone, I think I'm on budget revision No 5. Was going to use most of the donor bits now decided to go for new registration so have no Idea what final cost will be.

Yip, that's my plan aswell.
Quick question, what track rod ends you using on the steering rack, I thought it was escort MK2 ones for some reason and the tappered end doesn't go all the way in the upright.
Cheers
Ned.

I used the track rod end's off the focus, they fitted perfectly. I am curently dealing with pedals and steering column, i have been looking up what others have done to extend it to reach the rack.

Big step getting the engine in, looking forward to that part myself. Trying to get the front end sorted before I fit it.
How do the mounts fit on the new chassis, I remember on the previous chassis spacers had to be used on the gearbox side.

Yeah was a big step. i did the same as you though, got front end together first, my theory is now engine in, i can assemble rear end and get wheels on so it moveable. The engine mount and gearbox lower steady bar fitted perfectly with no spacers or hassle at all, the only problem i got is the gearbox mount holes over lap the brackets on the frame so only 2 holes can be drilled! I'm hopeing it is because i used the 2.0 rubber mount and the 1.8 is different?? Any one know if this is the case or had a simular problem??
