Hi Will, that roll bar brace is 3mmx48.3 CDS so I don't feel that you will have destroyed it's strength. I am very concerned though that you seem to have a plate for a tow bar. Are you confident that your oil burner will have enough torque to pull a small trailer? What about fuel consumption with an extra 100kgs. Gosh we are suffering global warming don't forget. It's only minus 8c right now. Have another think about it please! Do you have 2 pully end engine mounts now? Whats that for then?

Maybe your right, i wouldnt want to feel im personally responsible for the current heat wave. torque is an issue. in 1st gear ive only got FOUR THOUSAND Nm at the wheel. Do you have 2 pully end engine mounts now? Whats that for then? i didnt think 1 diesel engine was torquey enough. will

Well done Will
You obviously liked the build so much you have decided to do it all over again. I thought my winter fettel was extensive enough with all the susspension off and the engine out, but i have left the floor in place. Go for it.
I hope its on the road for the Curborough Sprint day.
What modifications are you doing. Obviously some suspension stuff, but why have you taken the floor off?
Keep it up, Cheers

well, from the top: > high level brake light > new intercooler + larger tubing > seat runners > Move engine - better mounts > clean/paint engine (never done first time around) > make/change engine cover > camber adjuster sleeves all round > rear toe adjusters > a centre console with gauges etc > new exhaust to allow for towball (exhaust No.6!) > Larger radiator > raise the handbrake, move forward slightly. > composite floor (hopefully) > Full length stainless flexi brake lines, no more nasty copper! > a new chassis colour - bright green probably > A new wiring loom (loom number 5 i think this wil be) im hoping to be back on the road at the very latest for stoneleigh. hopefully for easter... Will

Wow
All that in time for May, thats almost a complete rebuild less the SVA/IVA test. Good luck.
Some sensible stuff, a fuel guage for instance is always a good idea.
I am looking forward to seeing the suspension mods, especially the camber adjusters. See you at stoneleigh and Curborough for the AMM
Is university keeping you busy? - obviously not, or perhaps this is a piece of course work.
Cheers

Cheers Mattsmev Fuel gauge is going to be a clear tube on side of tank with a red ball. its in keeping with the oil burning theme ;D university is going well, but at 22 hours a week i find plenty of time to tinker with various projects. will

... any progress with the quick camber adjusters for the top bones? yes, and its a no. not enough metal ill make a full new set of bones when im back on the road all working again. i had a sheet of 'dibond' arrive last week. its an aluminium skinned plastic composite. very stiff and very light. but a right PITA to work with. every bend has to be routered with a V groove: Will

delays on house mean more time on rocket Trial fitted the engine today with the new mounts, the notched stay will allow me to raise it slightly, ill use aluminium spacers rather than re-weld the mounts. Clearence is more than before, but still tight. hoping to gain a bit more by raising the gearbox mount 8/10mm. what a beast: fitting my rear toe adjusters tomorrow, then ill have a rolling chassis again will

weighed the engine today engine weight (all ancillaries, except turbo): 180kg gearbox: 56kg total with turbo: 240kg it probably needs that weight to get the traction ;D
