I'm getting close to finishing my exocet build and am about to apply for the IVA test. Am i right in believing that the chaps at VOSA are proposing to lighten my wallet to the tune of £450? KC

Worry not, it sounds a lot but when you have taken the test you will have more confidence in your car. He may find dangerous items you missed such as a fuel pipe that may foul an exhaust or a brake pipe that may get stretched on full lock, he may find a wire that may catch a moving part or a lock nut that has not screwed into the nylock, then when it's all perfect you will save a fortune on insurance compared to a regular car and you will have increased the value of your Exocet as it will be properly registered as a MEV. Hope that cheers you up!

...and not to mention as it will be registered as a new car there is no need for an MOT for three years - so think of it as a 3 MOT payment as well.
