Great news if you live on I.O.M, they still operate the SVA test I am told today. The fee is only £160 and retests are free!!!!!! I am thinking how much the ferry crossing costs with a kit car!

Hi, I'm new here but I was the source of the info. The test isn't reciprocal so a vehicle tested in the IoM has not passed the UK test (and vice versa). So to register in the UK, I think a new test would be required. Also, you wouldn't believe the ferry fares!!! The tester I spoke to also said that (within reason) they are happy to discuss points during the build rather than having to wait until the vehicle arrives for testing. I think that could save a lot of grief. There was an amphibious vehicle that looked like an MX5. It was built by a manx company. Cost was some way north of £100k - you don't see many! Just have to pluck up courage to get the Exocet ordered now!!
